The students will be able to –

CO16: To understand the given concepts and its physical significance also to acquire problem solving skills and to create more problems based on physical concepts of diode and Galvanometer.

CO17: Understand the concept of conversion of galvanometer to ammeter and voltmeter, Carey Foster’s bridge and Junction diode by performing experiments.

Approach in teaching: Demonstration, Group activity, Discussion, Conduction of Experiments, asking Viva-voce questions.

Learning activities for the students:

Performing Experiments, observations, Analysis and interpretation of results, Performing experiments ,Team activity, simulation,  small animated games to develop

CONTENTS

List of Experiments         

        

  1. To study the random error in observations.
  2. Determine a high resistance by leakage method using Ballistic Galvanometer.
  3. Determine specific resistance of wire and low resistance using Careyfoster’s bridge.
  4. Conversion of Galvanometer into an ammeter and to calibrate it.
  5. Conversion of Galvanometer into a voltmeter and to calibrate it.
  6. To study the characteristics of a Junction Diode.
