Literature Survey and Scientific Writing:
Importance, types of sources.Databases collection, collation, management and retrieval of references. Scientometry-citations, impact factor, H-index.
Types of research papers, writing of research paper, review, thesis. Reviewing process of research paper. Ethics in research and publishing.

Errors  in Experiments: Errors in observations; random errors, systematic errors; Normal law of errors; Average error, Standard error and probable error; significant figures; percentage error.
 
Errors in Calculations: Approximate numbers and significant figures; Rounding of numbers; Absolute and relative errors, Relation between relative Error and significant figures; General formula for Errors; Application of Error formulas to fundamental operations of Arithmetics.
 
Review of Literature:
The purpose of this course is to help students to analyze research papers and explain its importance to find out the research gap. The review report will be based on a detailed review on any of the related topics covering recent research publications. The supervisor of the candidate and examiner panel members appointed for semester end evaluation will evaluate the course.
