Overall Report of the activity:

The 37th IAPT (The Indian Association of Physics Teachers) Convention was jointly organized by IAPT RC-6 and IIS (Deemed To be University) Jaipur at the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium of IIS, Mansarovar from October 7-10, 2023. The convention focused on themes such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education, Physics Education Research, and the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). The chief guest, Prof. Avinash Chandra Pandey, Director of the Inter-University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi, expressed that the convention's objective is to enhance awareness about physics education in schools and colleges, ultimately improving the quality of research in India.During this event, more than 300 physicists and social scientists from across the country actively participated. A total of 15 invited talks were delivered by eminent speakers, and 13 oral presentations showcased their technical papers. Additionally, over 100 students from various schools participated, with 14 models being demonstrated at the convention.

During this timeframe, a seminar titled "Application of Science for Society" was conducted. A special session dedicated to the Centenary Year celebration of Prof. B L Saraf and Prof. H.S. Hans took place, marking the introduction of two inaugural medals presented to esteemed educators: the Saraf Memorial Medal for Physics Education and the Hans Memorial Medal for Experimental Physics. As part of the ceremony, a commemorative postal stamp and envelope were unveiled.Over 50 teachers and students were recognized and awarded for their outstanding contributions to Physics teaching, learning, and research. The three-day event featured a workshop on hands-on activities, a project-making competition, and sessions for oral and demonstration presentations.

Within the IIS group, Prof. Y K Vijay, Director of CIST, was honored with the "Saraf Memorial Medal for Physics Education." Additionally, two students, Anaya Varkey and Shriya Kothari, from Class XI at IIS Mansarovar, were awarded a prize of Rs 2000 each in Category C.
