Objective of the activity: To introduce the students to the faculty members, as well as familiarize them with examination scheme and the various initiatives undertaken by the department.
Description:
The Discipline of Physics organized an Orientation Program on 7th Sep. 2022, Wednesday. It was orchestrated by the senior batch for the fresher’s of B.Sc./ B.Sc (H)/ B.Sc. B.Ed. and M.Sc. previous. The orientation commenced with a warm welcome extended to the students by Dr. Ritu Jain, Head of the Discipline. Dr. Jain went on to introduce the students to each faculty member, followed by an extensive description of the Time Table, Location of the Department/Classes/Labs, Structure of Course Curricula, Subject-wise Credits, Programme Outcomes, Learning Outcomes, Scheme of Examination (CA & SEE), Assessment and Evaluation Pattern, Departmental Website, Departmental Activities/Calendar and Library System and Online Access.
Then to break the ice, three games were introduced named Dumb Charades, Guess the movie name or song by seeing pictures and last but not the least Grab the Bottle. Everyone was very creative in playing games and they thoroughly enjoyed the games. Teachers were also played musical chair game. After all games gifts were given to the winners of all games.
In the end queries were answered and students filled the feedback form.
Outcome of the activity:
Become comfortable and familiar with the academic programs, support services, and co-curricular opportunities provided by the department and also in useful by making connections with fellow new students, staff, and faculty who will be instrumental in their academic success.
