The Energy Swaraj Foundation (ESF) inaugurated its Jaipur chapter on January 12, 2024, at the prestigious Rajasthan International Centre (RIC), focusing on promoting renewable energy in the Rajasthan region. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki from IIT Mumbai, renowned for his contributions to solar energy advocacy. The inauguration ceremony commenced with Saraswati Vandana and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. A video presentation detailing the launch of the ESF Jaipur chapter was showcased, setting the tone for the event. Prof. Chetan Solanki, also known as the Solar Man of India, shared insights into his solar energy advocacy journey, which began in 2019 with a solar bus expedition across 30 countries. He emphasized the importance of fostering self-sustainability in energy through solar initiatives for villages and towns.
The event also featured the introduction of the ESF Jaipur chapter team, with Dr. Sudipti Arora assuming the role of president. A highlight of the occasion was the unveiling of a climate clock, symbolizing the time remaining until the average global temperature threshold is reached, serving as a stark reminder of the urgency to address climate change. The program concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem and a high tea session, providing attendees with an opportunity to network and discuss further collaborations in the field of renewable energy.
