On 20 March 2024, a significant lecture was organised at IIIM Jaipur by IIS (Deemed to be University) and The Indra Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre, Jaipur. The occasion commemorated the foundation laying of three semiconductor facilities in Gujarat by the Honourable Prime Minister of India. The lecture aimed to shed light on the importance of semiconductor technology in the contemporary digital landscape.
Professor YK Vijay, Director of the Centre for Innovation and Science Teaching, delivered an engaging talk on "Integrated Solutions with Semiconductor in the New Digital Era." He showcased innovative science experiments and emphasized the growing importance of semiconductors in today's digital landscape. Followed by the live screening of the inauguration event in Gujarat featured the Prime Minister's optimistic vision for the semiconductor industry in India, he spoke optimistically about the vast array of employment opportunities that would emerge and the socio-economic benefits that would accrue to all segments of society. As we look towards the future, it is imperative to nurture the spirit of curiosity and innovation, laying the foundation for a technologically empowered society. The event not only provided valuable insights into the world of semiconductor technology but also left attendees, particularly students, inspired and hopeful for a promising future in the field of semiconductor technology.
