Physics Department of IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur organized an alumna interaction for V semester students of UG on 23 September 2021. The interaction was addressed by alumna Ms. Sameeshta, who is a Ph.D. scholar in IIT Bombay. The primary motive of the session was to give Final Year students an opportunity to interact with their seniors who have entered the world of work and get their views on the challenges they would face when they graduate and how they should prepare themselves.

The session commenced with a brief introduction of the invitee. She then explained the students about the different areas of physics and their scope and the various responsibilities in the world of physics. She shared her own inspiring journey and many anecdotes from her duration in University. It was a very illuminating experience for everyone, especially those who want to pursue a career in physics. She was an amazing guide for us all and answered all our queries with utmost simplicity and accuracy regarding the different colleges and careers in physics. She welcomed all of us and encouraged us to be ready to face the upcoming difficulties and hard work and guided us to get through them with ease.

The alumna emphasized the importance of certifications that assisted them in their journey after graduation into the industry. They urged the students to participate in intercollegiate events as it helps in identifying one’s interest area which can help in choosing the right career option.  She was thrilled to interact with young minds and guide them with her great insight in their respective career goals. Students interacted with her regarding higher education, career requirements and eligibility criteria and qualities required in their respective fields. The session concluded by vote of thanks and a request to the alumna, to remain connected with the institution. The Alumna was more than happy to help and associate with the College in any way.  This interaction has definitely been proven useful to the students for understanding the need of the hour with respect to the industry.
