With significant global attention to nano-science and technology in the recent years, The Department of Physics, Centre for Nano Science & Technology and Centre for Research Innovation and Training (CRIT), IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur organized a two day International conference from 30-31 January, 2024 On Recent Advancement in Sustainable Nano-Science and Technology sponsored by CSIR & DRDO Delhi. The focus of the conference was to provide a forum for eminent academicians, technologists and young researchers to exchange their ideas on the latest development and future trends in the field of material Science and Nanotechnology.

The conference commenced at 10.00am on 30th January 2024 with the inaugural session seeking the blessings of almighty followed by lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries. Dr. Raakhi Gupta, Rector & Registrar extended a warm welcome to all the resource persons, delegates and student participants on behalf of  Dr. Ashok Gupta, Hon’ble Chancellor, IIS(deemed to be University), Jaipur.

Special Remarks about the conference were addressed by Prof. T.N. Mathur, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor & Patron of the conference.

 

Prof. Ila Joshi, Dean, Faculty of  Science, presented an overview of the science departments of the IIS University.

Prof. K S. Sharma, Advisor of the University & Conference Chairman, acquainted the delegates with the aim and objectives of the conference.

After this Abstract booklet was released by the dignitaries and A formal vote of thanks was then conveyed by, Prof. Ramphal Sharma, Convenor of the conference.

Dr. D. K. Aswal, Director HS & EG, BARC, Mumbai delivered a keynote address on Radiation, Nuclear energy and environment

 

Guest of Honour Prof. Young Pak Lee from Korean Academy of Science and Technology, Hanyang University, Seoul Delivered a talk on Advanced broad/tailored-band metamaterials perfect absorbers for microwave.

 

 

The first technical session began after a high tea break,  the chairperson of the session was  Prof. Nand Lal Singh from Netaji Subhas University of Technology, New Delhi. In this session Prof. Ravi Kumar from NIT Hamirpur delivered a talk on Development of p-Type Transparent Conducting and Dilute magnetic Oxides’’

 

It was then followed by Dr. Mahesh Suryawanshi, ARC DECRA Fellow, School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering, Sydney, Australia. He spoke on Sustainable Materials for a Clean Energy Future.

 

 After this Prof. P. D. Sahare, from University of Delhi delivered a talk on “Techniques and Phosphor Materials for Dosimetry of High-Energy Radiation Using Luminescence”.

 

After all these informative talks, Prof. D. G. Kuberkar, Saurashtra University, Rajkot took over as  chairperson in the second technical session. In this session three invited Talks were delivered.

 

Dr. Umesh Kumar, from Central University of Haryana talked on Multifunctional organic nanoparticles for agriculture purpose.

 

Dr. R. J. Choudhary from UGC DAE, Indore discussed on Strain modulated electronic and magnetic properties of transition metal oxides thin films.

 

Prof. G. D. Sharma, LNM Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur delivered a talk on Recent Advances in Fullerene Free Organic Solar Cells: Materials and Device Physics and Applications.

 

After lunch the third technical session was chaired by Prof.  Rajesh Kumar Sharma from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

 

In this session Dr. Ritu Sharma, MNIT, Jaipur discussed about Synthesis & Characterization of Carbon Nano Material Composite for optoelectronics & other Application.

 

The next talk was presented by Prof. D. G. Kuberkar, Saurashtra University, Rajkot On the topic Investigation on magnetic and dielectric properties of La-doped Orthoferrites.

 

Prof. Nand Lal Singh, talked about Surface Modification and Adhesion Improvement of Polymeric Materials by Argon Plasma Treatment.

 

Dr. Rahul Singhal, MNIT, Jaipur presented about Optical and Structural properties of bi-functional nanocomposites.

 

After this the session for invited lectures were chaired by Prof. Ravi Kumar, NIT Hamirpur. In this session the first speaker was Dr. Tulika Prasad from JNU, New Delhi discussed about Functional Nanostructures for Applications in Nanomedicine.

 

Dr. M.S. Gaur from Hindustan College of Science and Technology, Farah (Mathura) Presented a talk on Graphene : 2D Material That Can Change Everything.

 

Dr. Vipin Amoli from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Amethi talked about Iontronic Polymer Pumps: A New Strategy for Bioinspired Sensors and Actuators.

 

The last technical session of the day was chaired by Prof. Amarjeet Kaur from University of Delhi and the speakers were Dr. Shweta Sharma, Sri Venkateswara College (University of Delhi) and Dr. Kavita Arora, JNU Delhi.

 

The day was then concluded with a cultural program.

 

Today, the second day started with fifth Technical session at 10:00 am and was chaired by Dr. Ranjana Mehrotra, CSIR- NPL New Delhi.

 

The first speaker in this session was Dr. Ching-Chou Wu from Taichung, Taiwan. He talked on the Electrochemical Affinity Biosensors with Nanomaterial Assistance for Bio-industrial Applications.

 

It was then followed by Prof. Amarjeet Kaur, she discussed about Performance of symmetric electrical double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) using activated carbon derived from the biomass.

 

Next sixth technical session was chaired by Dr. Nishad Deshpande from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Surat.

 

In this session the speaker was Dr Abhay A. Sagade from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai discussed about Selective operation of depletion and enhancement modes of nanoscale field effect transistors.

 

Next was Dr. S.D. Chavhan From S. G. Patil College Sakri, who talked about Growth and Characterization of Sb2S3-xSe3 Thin Films for Solar Cell Applications

 

The last Invited Lectures session was chaired by Dr. Ching-Chou Wu from Taichung, Taiwan.In this session speakers were Dr. Parul Mehrotra,Dr. Hemraj Yadav, Dr. Kamlendra Awasthi, and Dr. Sumant Upadhyay.

 

To encourage scientific research among students and faculty, research paper presentations were also scheduled on both days. In all 140 participants shared their research work through oral and poster presentations. The best oral and best poster presentation will now be awarded in this session. These presentations were judged by a panel of esteemed judges. The judges for oral presentations were Prof. Y. Vijay, Dr. Mahesh Suryavanshi, Dr. Surendra Nimesh and Dr. Umesh Kumar.

The posters were judged by Prof. Ravi Kumar, Dr. Abhay A. Sagade, Dr. M. S. Gaur, Dr. S.D. Chavhan, Dr. Rajesh Joshi and Dr. Pawan Kumar. We are thankful for their help and support.

 I hope, this conference must have provided a platform for meaningful discussions, knowledge exchange, and networking among experts in the field.
