The Department of Physics at IIS (deemed to be a University) organized an orientation for the first-semester students of UG & PG on August 10, 2023. It began with a presentation by the Head of the Department, Dr. Nidhi Bhargava wherein  she briefed the students about credits, Scheme of Examination, Timetable,  Departmental Website,  syllabus ,library systems etc. She also introduced other faculty members of the department to the new students. This was followed by a warm welcome from second and third-year students, who organized a few activities for their juniors.
 
In the first activity, the students were asked to introduce themselves by stating their names. In the second activity, the students were required to identify and name the images displayed on the screen, and also explain the context of those pictures. For the final activity, they were asked to describe a movie using words and actions, without revealing its title.
 
The orientation came to an end with a vote of thanks and appreciation from both students and faculty members.
